Business Development Manager with focus on business development of new markets in Northern Europe/Scandinavia

The Job

Job overall purpose:

  • To develop the Northern Europe/Scandinavian market of the total portfolio of Constantia Flexibles products through development of new markets for flexible packaging of all kinds of food.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To grow the Northern Europe/Scandinavian business through developing the market strategy for new markets.
  • To grow the Northern Europe/Scandinavian business through developing exisisting relationships.
  • To achieve the agreed target of sales and profitability of your Constantia Flexibles product portofolio in the Northern Europe/Skandinavian market.
  • To take responsiblitiy of the budget process of the Northern Europe/Skandinavian market for new business.

Key tasks:

To grow the Northern Europe/Scandinavian business through developing the market strategy for new markets.

  • Monitor market trends and competition in assigned area to contribute to the definition of the regional strategy.
  • Define new projects with existing and potential new clients.
  • Share information about the customer with other functions to continuously increase their understanding of customer needs.
  • Explore the needs of the customer for products and services.
  • Track activities and customer information in CRM system.

To grow the Northern Europe/Scandinavian business through developing exisisting relationships.

  • Establish and nurture professional relationships with key people in the customers’ organization within the country of responsibility.
  • Seek new opportunities, special developments for products and services.
  • Collect information and explore customer’s future needs for products and services.
  • Identify and influence key decision makers in the customers’ organizations innovation.
  • Collect questions and ideas from the customer and share them with appropriate colleagues.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff to develop application possibilities for new ideas.
  • Explore the needs of the customer for products and services.
  • Track activities and customer information in CRM system.

To achieve the agreed target of sales and profitability of your Constantia Flexibles product portofolio in the Northern Europe/Skandinavian market.

  • Evaluate potential of existing customers and selected prospects.
  • Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact to achieve the sales and profitability goals and visit customers accordingly.
  • Explore the needs of the customer for products and services.
  • Account Management tasks for excisting customers.
  • Coordinate with proper staff of the company to follow-up to customers’ requests.
  • Partner with the customer to find solutions that provide them an excellent experience along with profitability to Constantia.
  • Follow-up to customer’s requests and ensure accurate administration of data and documents.
  • Arrange status reports, for activities, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals.
  • Negotiate contract conditions within the provided frame.
  • Handle customer complaints.
  • Follow-up for collection of payment.
  • Engage with other functions, especially with Customer Service and Application engineers, to provide the customer with products and services that meet or exceed their expectations and ensure the profitability of the offer.

To take responsiblitiy of the budget process of the Northern Europe/Skandinavian market for new business.

  • Forecast sales in the assigned area and contribute to the company's budget.
  • Regular sales analasys and reporting.

You should expect to have approx 20% of your working days of travelling per year.

Criteria of success:

  • To reach the agreed target of sales and profitability.
  • To continuously developed the Northern Europe/Scandinavian market by developing the amount and quality of relations in the market.

Your profile

Critical experience

  • Experience from a sales position with the Northern Europe/Scandinavian food packaging industry as the market.
  • Experience with developing sales relationships.
  • Experience with business development of new markets.
  • Experience with developing budgets and forecasts - and reporting.

Skills and behaviour

  • The necessary "impatient patience" it takes to develop new markets through new projects.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Hunting spirit.
  • Ability to work independant.
  • Fluent in English and Danish - both verbal and written. If you communicate in german it's fine - but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Technical understanding and knowledege.

Education

  • Your relevant commercial experience in this field is more important than your specific education.

The Business Development Manager position is placed in Denmark. With a desk at the new plant in Ishøj, Copenhagen – but with the option of working intensively from home.
