Head of Operations - Product Business Unit
The position
Job overall purpose:
To ensure operational excellence including production, supply chain management, planning and strategic sourcing in the Product Business Unit. This is a management position and you will be part of the Product Business Unit leadership team.

Your mission:
The Head of Product Operations plays a key role in ensuring efficient, predictable, and high-quality production of GomSpace products for both internal Business Units and external customers.
You will unite production, supply chain management, planning, and strategic sourcing into one coherent operational function within the Product Business Unit, driving excellence from demand forecasting to final delivery. Working closely with the VP of Products and the company COO, you will ensure strong alignment between demand, capacity, and delivery performance — turning forecasts into execution, and execution into results.
What you will do:
- S&OP Leadership
- Own and drive the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the Product organization
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Products and the company COO to ensure effective demand and capacity planning across all Business Units
- Align production capabilities with business forecasts and customer commitments
- Production Management
- Lead all product manufacturing activities, including both in-house production and external manufacturing partnerships
- Ensure efficient production scheduling, high-quality standards, and cost optimization
- Supply Chain & Planning
- Manage the planning and supply chain teams to secure smooth procurement, production planning, and delivery for both internal and external customers
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and lead-time reduction
- Strategic Procurement
- Oversee strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations across all Business Units
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships focused on performance, cost, reliability, and innovation
- Outsourcing & Partner Management
- Establish and manage relationships with external manufacturing partners
- Ensure alignment on quality, cost, and delivery while maintaining flexibility in capacity scaling
- Process & System Optimization
- Strengthen the use of ERP, planning, and reporting systems to increase transparency and data-driven decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational robustness and scalability
- Financial Responsibility & Asset Ownership
- Own the operational budget for Product Operations, ensuring visibility of costs, resource allocation, and performance to budget
- Provide accurate input and follow-up on production-related financials, including CAPEX, OPEX, and cash flow impact
- Ensure effective asset management, including production equipment, inventory, and supplier commitments
- Collaborate with Finance and the COO to align operations with financial forecasts and business objectives

- Effective, transparent S&OP process aligned with business goals
- Optimized resource utilization and reduced lead times
- Strong supplier network and strategic sourcing agreements in place
- High satisfaction among internal stakeholders and external customers
Qualifications
Critical experience:
- Experience in S&OP, Supply Chain Management, and Production Operations
- Strong background in outsourcing and supplier management, ideally in high-tech or aerospace manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and data-driven operational management
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills, bridging strategic intent with operational execution
- A value-based sales mindset and a natural ability to build trust and credibility
- Demonstrated ability to improve cross-functional processes in a matrix organization
- Willingness to challenge yourself and the organization to find better ways of working
